Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery Opportunity - Lufkin, TX

Woodland Heights Medical Center is seeking a Cardiovascular Surgeon to join a well-established private practice serving the Lufkin community and surrounding region. About the Practice:
This established surgical program offers a comprehensive range of advanced procedures, including:
- Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
- Valve repair and replacement
- Thoracic procedures
- Vascular surgery
Practice Details:
- Mix of inpatient and outpatient

Weekly Schedule: 2.5 days in clinic, 2 days in the OR

Call Requirements:
– 10 call days/month (24-hour shifts, 7am–7am)
– 1–2 phone consults per day on average
– Hospital visits 1–3 times weekly for emergencies
– Hospitalists handle general inpatient consults; CV surgeon responds within 24 hours - Post-Op Care: 24-hour post-op rounding required

OR Resources:
– 2 dedicated CV Surgery ORs with full block time management
– Access to 2 DaVinci Xi robotic systems -
Support Team Includes:
– Surgical assist for CABG, office manager, receptionist
– Anesthesia support: 80% MD anesthesiologist / 20% CRNA

Qualifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Proficient in CABG, valve repair, thoracic, and vascular surgery

- Comfortable balancing clinical, surgical, and consultative responsibilities
