Location: Ketchikan, Alaska Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm | No on-call Employment Type: TDY Relief Provider Program

Ketchikan is a coastal town of 8,000 residents nestled in Alaska’s southeastern panhandle. Surrounded by lush forests and rich Native heritage, it serves the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian communities. Accessible only by air or ferry, Ketchikan offers a unique opportunity to practice medicine in a resource-limited yet culturally vibrant setting.

🏥 Practice Details

• Patient Volume: ~50 patients/week
• EHR: Cerner
• Support Staff: Reception, MA, RN, 3 FNPs, PMHNP, CNM, OB
• Referral Hospital: PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center (Level IV, 25 beds + LTC)

🩺 Clinical Scope

• Outpatient primary care across lifespan (Peds 40%, Adult/Geriatric 60%)
• Prenatal/postnatal care, minor procedures, chronic disease management
• Emergency support, suturing, ultrasound, EKG, lab, x-ray
• Specialty services on-site or referred to Acoma Behavioral Health, Dental, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Endocrinology, and more

🧾 Requirements

• Current AK NP license (or ability to obtain)
• DEA, CPR, ACLS certifications
• Master’s degree from accredited nursing program
• 2+ years’ family medicine experience preferred
• Commitment to rural and Tribal health
• COVID-19 vaccination (including boosters)

💵 Compensation & Benefits

• Pay: $85/hr TDY – Relief Provider Program
• Benefits: Malpractice coverage (incl. tail), housing, travel, car rental
• Access: 4 daily flights to/from Seattle
