Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – Newborn Nursery

Responsibilities

Pediatrix is seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) to join our Newborn Nursery team at Covenant Medical Center in Saginaw, Michigan. This is an excellent opportunity for a provider who enjoys newborn care and values a supportive, collaborative practice environment.

The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner will provide high‑quality care to newborns in our well‑baby nursery, partnering closely with pediatricians, nurses, and the care team to ensure a safe and nurturing start for every infant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Morning rounding in the Newborn Nursery
  • Daily evaluation and management of healthy newborns
  • Collaboration with pediatricians, nursing staff, and OB teams
  • Documentation of newborn exams, care plans, and discharge summaries
  • Call coverage from home, with responsibilities limited to phone triage and urgent needs
  • Supporting family education and ensuring high‑quality, family‑centered care

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing
  • Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP‑Primary Care or PNP‑Acute Care)
  • Active Michigan RN and NP licensure (or eligibility)
  • Experience with newborn care preferred
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
