Job Summary: Alameda Health System’s Neurology Division is seeking a full-time Neurologist to provide both outpatient and inpatient general neurology services. You will join a mission-driven team caring for Alameda County’s diverse and complex patient population in a safety-net setting. The successful candidate will be organized, efficient, clinically strong, and committed to high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide general neurology services in outpatient clinic settings, including the Highland Wellness Clinic; ideally conduct EMG/NCS and/or EEG services (strongly preferred)
• Participate in inpatient neurology consults at Alameda Hospital; typical consult census fewer than 5 patients per day
• Collaborate with teleneurology service for management of acute stroke and other neurologic emergencies
• Engage in weekly case conferences with division colleagues, fostering a collaborative environment
• Maintain documentation and clinical workflows in accordance with hospital standards, regulatory requirements, and quality metrics
• Work with colleagues to ensure equitable and patient-centered neurological care for underserved populations

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
• Valid medical license to practice in California
• Valid DEA license
• Strong preference for fellowship training in neuromuscular medicine or neurophysiology (though not required)
• Clinical skills in outpatient general neurology and inpatient consults; experience doing EMGs or reading EEGs is highly desirable

Work Environment & Schedule:

• Full-time appointment with Alameda Health Medical Group (AHMG) in Oakland, CA
• Day shifts; no weekend coverage or overnight call required
• Outpatient clinic work at Highland Wellness Clinic; inpatient consultations at Alameda Hospital
• Collaborative, supportive division culture with regular case conferences
