Job Summary
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) serves as the senior physician executive responsible for providing strategic, clinical, and administrative leadership across the full continuum of pediatric and adolescent psychiatric services. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, recovery-oriented behavioral health care in alignment with Texas state requirements and evidence-based practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Executive Leadership: Collaborate with the CEO and C-suite to support financial stewardship, operational efficiency, and medical staff budgeting.
- Clinical Oversight: Lead a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists and APPs across inpatient, PHP, and IOP services.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain accountability for accreditation and survey readiness with the Joint Commission, CMS, and Texas state agencies.
- Medical Staff Liaison: Oversee credentialing, peer review, and professional development while ensuring physicians exercise independent medical judgment.
- Quality & Safety: Lead quality improvement plans and patient safety programs to achieve improved clinical outcomes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certification: Board Certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Licensure: Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas (or eligible for licensure).
- Experience: 3-5+ years of clinical experience with at least 2-3 years in a significant administrative leadership role.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead in complex, matrixed environments with strong business acumen and negotiation skills.

Compensation Details
$350K–$550K
Final compensation numbers will be negotiated during the interview process. Factors include experience, aptitude, and location. Potential for performance-based bonuses, relocation assistance, and generous CME allowances. 401(k) with match, high-tier health/dental/vision insurance, and paid parental leave. *The location of the Hospital is outside of Waco, in Marlin, TX.*
