Job Summary:

The Department of Pediatrics at The University of Wisconsin is recruiting an exceptional Clinical Geneticist to join our Division of Genetics & Metabolism. We are looking for candidates with a track record of clinical excellence and academic contributions as demonstrated through training and/or practice experience. Provide clinical care, teaching, and execution of scholarly activities.

The UW Department of Pediatrics is a vibrant academic department comprising over 200 faculty in seventeen subspecialty divisions. The Department promotes and enhances the health of children through outstanding clinical care, exemplary education of pediatric trainees, performance of cutting edge research and vigorous advocacy. Our clinics are staffed by board-certified medical geneticists who are members of the Department of Pediatrics faculty. Our team consists of physicians, genetic counselors, dietitians, nurses, and fellows. Members of the division direct accredited training programs in genetic counselling, medical genetics, biochemical genetics, clinical cytogenetics, and molecular genetics.

The University of Wisconsin Department of Pediatrics continues to be a leader among pediatric departments in federal research funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), according to the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research (BRIMR). The recently released 2021 rankings lists the Department of Pediatrics as No. 7 in the nation with $37.5 million in funding from the NIH. The department has continued to rise in national rankings of research dollars, up from No. 31 in 2012, and it has ranked in the top 13 for five years straight.

Qualifications:

*Completion of an ACGME-approved medical genetics and genomics categorical, combined genetics/ pediatrics or other combined genetics/primary care specialty and/or pediatric residency program is required.
*Completion of a Medical Biochemical Genetics fellowship program is preferred but not required.
*Interest in academic medicine, involving teaching to a variety of learners is essential.

Candidates must possess clinical and academic credentials sufficient for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank at the CHS Track that have been previously established by UW School of Medicine and Public Health Guidelines. Appointment as Associate Professor or full Professor will require that candidate's credentials meet criteria for rank established by UW School of Medicine and Public Health Guidelines.

*Candidate is required to have or be eligible for a Wisconsin medical licensure.
*Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatrics through the American Board of Pediatrics. *Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges.
