MedStar Health is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Critical Care team at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Practice at the top of your license in a high-acuity critical care environment alongside experienced intensivists, Advanced Practice Providers, and multidisciplinary care teams. This nocturnist role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse mix of medical and surgical critical care patients while serving as a key leader in the overnight management of critically ill patients throughout the hospital.

Position Highlights

  • Full-time nocturnist position with 147 annual shifts
  • 198-bed community teaching hospital serving Northeast Baltimore
  • 17-bed closed Medical/Surgical ICU
  • High level of autonomy with collaborative intensivist support
  • Lead Rapid Response and Code Blue teams throughout the hospital
  • Diverse medical and surgical critical care patient population
  • Key service lines include Primary Stroke Services, Vascular Surgery, Acute Care General Surgery, Complex Wound Care, and Limb Salvage programs
  • Advanced bedside procedural opportunities including central venous catheters, non-tunneled dialysis catheters, arterial lines, chest tubes, and thoracentesis
  • Supportive and collaborative team culture with strong physician and APP partnerships

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program
  • NCCPA certification (PA) or AGACNP certification (NP) required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • One year of critical care or inpatient hospital medicine experience preferred
  • Advanced procedural experience preferred
  • New graduates with strong critical care interest and training will be considered

Compensation Details

$130K–$180K

The hiring range is the range MedStar Health, in good faith, believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future and actual compensation may vary from posting based on work experience, education and/or skill level, etc. Even within the range, the actual compensation will vary depending on the above factors as well as market/business considerations.
