    VA Medical Center (VAMC) Syracuse, New York is seeking a Pulmonary/Critical Care physician. The Syracuse VAMC is an active teaching hospital affiliated with and physically adjacent to the State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University (UMU). The position requires both inpatient and outpatient Pulmonary responsibilities.

    Duties of the position include, but are not limited to the following: ·

    • Provide consultative services and follow up for inpatient and outpatient pulmonary patients.
    • Inpatient discharge planning to include collaboration with the hospitalists and proper hand off at the end of shifts, as necessary.
    • Inpatient progress notes and specific documentation for resident supervision is required.
    • Quality of care should meet professional standards at all times
    • Performs the following functions: Evaluate, diagnose, consult, and order appropriate diagnostic studies and treatments for all Pulmonary patients
    • Provide comprehensive care for patients who have illnesses within the scope of IM/Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine.
    • Participate in Pulmonary and other Critical Care related committees and pulmonary conferences
