Position Summary:
Wellstar MCG is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Pediatric Critical Care Medicine team. The APP will work collaboratively with pediatric intensivists, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive, evidence-based critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU under physician supervision.
  • Conduct patient assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and monitor patient progress.
  • Perform procedures as appropriate and within scope of practice.
  • Collaborate closely with pediatric intensivists, specialists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Participate in family communication, providing education and support during critical care situations.
  • Assist in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical protocols and guidelines.
  • Document all care delivered accurately and timely in the electronic medical record system.
  • Participate in educational and professional development activities.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctorate degree as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Current licensure and certification as an NP or PA in the state of Georgia.
  • Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (PNP-AC) or equivalent certification preferred for NPs.
  • Previous experience in pediatric critical care or PICU setting strongly preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
