How you'll make an impact in this role
Ascension Illinois is looking for an experienced Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Internal Medicine Department.
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Illinois to provide medical services to patients.
Position Highlights:
- 100% outpatient
- Provide primary care, population health, and immediate care-type services to Unite Here union members (hospitality workers and their adult dependents)
- Monday-Friday 8:00am - 6:00pm and Saturday 8am - 12pm
- Saturdays and potentially Fridays are rotating
- See 10-20 patients per day on average in the clinic setting
- Nice mix of patients and cases
- A lot of autonomy

- Bilingual preferred (Spanish, Mandarin or Cantonese, etc)
Responsibilities:
- Obtain patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic studies. Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
- Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
- Counsel and educate patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
- Document delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.

What minimum requirements you'll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.
- Registered Nurse preferred.
Education:
- Masters Degree of Nursing required.
