The W.G. (Bill Hefner) Salisbury VA Medical Center is seeking a full-time Sleep and Pulmonary Medicine Physician to join our collaborative, mission-driven team serving Veterans and their families.
Duties but not limited to:
Provide patient care in sleep and pulmonary medicine, including diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management.
Perform sleep and pulmonary histories, exams, and interpret diagnostic tests.
Order and oversee testing, therapies, and equipment such as CPAP and ventilators.
Support multidisciplinary care and collaborate with other services.
Educate staff through lectures and participate in quality improvement and committee activities.
Manage non-face-to-face consultations via telehealth.
For ICU coverage, provide invasive ventilator management.
Diagnose and treat sleep disorders, including sleep-disordered breathing.
Prescribe and manage medications and alternative therapies for sleep disorders.
Counsel and educate patients on treatment options and proper device use.

Position Requirements:
MD/DO with completion of an accredited residency
Board certified/eligible in Sleep & Pulmonary Medicine
Preference for candidates with:
Fellowship training in Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine (Critical Care training desired, but optional)
Board Certification (ABIM) preferred; board eligibility considered
U.S. Citizenship required (non-citizens considered per VA policy if qualified citizens are unavailable)
