  • The primary role of the On-Site Area Medical Director in Oregon is to drive clinical excellence, foster provider growth, and lead medical operations in the assigned region to deliver high quality patient-centered care while achieving ambitious clinical and financial goals. The Area Medical Director provides strategic leadership, mentorship, and support to our talented team of physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).

    This role offers a blend of clinical leadership, administrative responsibility, and the opportunity to continue providing direct patient care.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    • Empower Providers: Provide mentorship, training, and ongoing support and education to providers in your region, fostering their professional growth and development.
    • Champion Quality: Lead clinical quality initiatives, including chart reviews, peer-to-peer reviews, and the implementation of best practices.
    • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with clinical and operational leadership to develop and implement standardized operating procedures (SOPs) and care initiatives.
    • Operational Excellence: Partner with operations leadership to communicate key updates and information to providers.
    • Talent Acquisition: Play a key role in the recruitment and hiring of top-tier provider talent.
    • Direct Patient Care: Provide patient care in an outpatient setting, which includes minor procedures normally performed in an urgent care setting.

    Requirements and Qualifications:

    • MD/DO license (unrestricted) in the state; DEA licensure; Board certification in relevant specialty preferred (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics).
    • Proven healthcare leadership experience with quantifiable achievements. Medical Director/Department Head experience preferred.
    • Deep urgent care expertise, including best practices, operations, and trends.
    • Strong business acumen
    • Quality improvement expertise: (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
    • Demonstrated provider development skills: mentoring, coaching, performance management.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong EHR and healthcare technology proficiency.
    • Collaborative, team-oriented approach.
