  • Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) invite applications for a full-time clinical faculty position in Palliative Care. Academic appointment will be at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

    This role is part of the Clinical Research Division at Fred Hutch and an appropriate academic division at UW, depending on the candidate’s background and training.

    We are seeking a compassionate, innovative clinician to join our world-class Palliative Care program. In this role, you will provide primarily ambulatory palliative care to patients at a leading comprehensive cancer center known for groundbreaking research and exceptional patient outcomes.

    This position includes an 80:20 focus on clinical service and academic activities. Academic responsibilities may include teaching, administrative work, research participation, and oversight of clinical trainees. The role may also involve seeing patients at one of Fred Hutch’s community clinic locations.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Provide outstanding ambulatory palliative care to patients at Fred Hutch’s beautiful South Lake Union campus.
    • Host and supervise fellows in the outpatient setting.
    • Engage in service and administrative responsibilities aligned with the Clinical Research Division.

    Applicants must have:

    • MD/DO degree (or foreign equivalent)
    • Board certification/Board Eligibility in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. While individuals with primary training in internal medicine are preferred, applicants with other training may apply (e.g. family medicine, anesthesiology, rehabilitation, psychiatry, surgery, etc.). The successful applicant will be board certified/board eligible in their primary area of training.
    • Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Washington.

    Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance health, well-being, and financial security.
