Internal Medicine Physician - Portland, Maine

Maine Medical Partners is seeking a FT BC/BE internal medicine physician to join their academic team in the Adult Medicine Clinic at Maine Medical Center.

The Maine Medical Partners Adult Medicine Clinic is the primary ambulatory teaching site for Maine Medical Center’s Internal Medicine Residency Program. The Clinic, located in Portland, Maine, is the medical home for a culturally and medically diverse population with socio-economic challenges and health care disparities. The Clinic also serves as the primary medical intake site and medical home for newly arrived immigrants to the Greater Portland area.

Qualifications & Responsibilities:

• Experience preferred but may consider new graduates.
• The physician will need to work well in a team environment, relate effectively with culturally diverse patients, and possess strong teaching and clinical skills.
• Provide leadership in the clinic and team settings for colleagues.
• Contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic clinic through teaching and service.
• The clinical portion of the position involves mostly direct patient care and occasional opportunities to precept the Internal Medicine Residents. The ideal candidate will have an interest in residency education, quality improvement, and international/immigrant patient care.

Maine Medical Center has 700 licensed beds and is the state’s leading tertiary care hospital and Level One Trauma Center, with a full complement of residencies and fellowships and an integral part of Tufts University Medical School. The selected candidate would have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine, and the position involves teaching and mentoring residents and medical students from the Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine Medical School Program.
