Key Job Responsibilities:

  • The chosen applicant will participate in administrative, and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.

  • The chosen candidate will teach medical students, residents, and fellows.

  • An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Required Qualifications:

  • WI Medical license by start date of position
  • Board eligible or certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology by start date of position
  • Completion of Anesthesiology residency program, and certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Anesthesiology. Subspecialty fellowship training in pain management, and certified or eligible for certification by an appropriate specialty board for pain management by the start date of the position
  • Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges, by start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Duties for appointment to the Clinician Teacher (CT) track: Primary responsibilities will be clinical. Provide clinical care in the areas of chronic pain management in an outpatient clinic setting, and interventional pain treatment in an ambulatory procedure center, and/or regional pain care. In addition, work as an anesthesiologist providing anesthetic care to surgical patients either personally performing anesthesia or in an anesthesia team model. Balance of duties to be determined on an individual basis. Clinical teaching will be in the area of chronic pain management and/or regional pain management.
  • Duties for appointment to CHS track: Major teaching responsibilities for residents and fellowsin the area of chronic pain management and/or regional pain management. Provide clinical care in the areas of chronic pain management in an outpatient clinic setting, and interventional pain treatment in an ambulatory procedure center, and/or regional pain care. In addition, work as an anesthesiologist providing anesthetic care to surgical patients either personally performing anesthesia or in an anesthesia team model. Balance of duties to be determined on an individual basis. Clinical teaching will be in the area of chronic pain management and/or regional pain management. Opportunity for participation or to lead clinical research for interested candidates.

Education:

MD, DO, or equivalent is required
