Redefine Surgical Care in a Community That Feels Like Home

General Surgery | Eastern Region of Rochester Regional Health
We're Here for It.

At Rochester Regional Health, we believe that great care starts with great people — people who are deeply rooted in their communities, care like family, and have the courage to embrace tomorrow, today. We're seeking a General Surgeon to join our growing team in the Eastern Region, serving the Clifton Springs, Newark, and Geneva communities. Here, you'll find the freedom to build the practice you want, with a wide scope of elective general surgery in a health system driven by a bold vision: to become a national model of health and healing.

This opportunity is ideal for a surgeon who thrives in a rural, community-based setting and enjoys performing a variety of procedures — including hernia repair, gallbladder, endoscopy, and soft tissue surgeries. Our surgeons work across two hospital campuses: Newark-Wayne Community Hospital and Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic, with patient care delivered through offices at Clifton Springs Hospital and Geneva Medical Campus. As we expand in Geneva, you'll play a key role in growing a new practice and strengthening surgical access for patients across the region.

Why Surgeons Thrive Here

  • Broad-Scope Elective Practice: A true general surgery opportunity with variety and autonomy
  • Rural Community Impact: Make a lasting difference in smaller communities that deeply value continuity and access to care
  • Supportive Call Schedule: Shared 1:3 general surgery call with a collegial team of three surgeons — with opportunity to increase coverage as the team grows or as patient need evolves.
  • Advanced Surgical Support: Access to robotics, inpatient APP support, and modern ORs
  • System-wide Integration: Collaborate across RRH's network of services while enjoying the intimacy and agility of rural practice

What You Bring

  • MD or DO with Board Certification/Eligibility in General Surgery

  • A commitment to teamwork, quality, and compassionate care

At RRH, our shared purpose is clear: to uplift humanity through care for our community. We're rooted in our neighborhoods, united as one team, and committed to care that feels like family. If you're ready to grow a rewarding practice in a place where your work matters — and your life outside the OR matters just as much — We're Here for It.
