This opening for a 1099 Direct Contract or permanent W-2 Anesthesiologist allows you the opportunity to work in one of the largest trauma centers in the United States, with the flexibility of making your own schedule. Work alongside 16 Faculty Anesthesiologists with 2 Residents scheduled to start in 2026. Memphis, known for its rich cultural heritage and vibrant music scene is an excellent place to combine work with leisure.

• Position: 1099 Direct Contract or W2 Anesthesiologist
• Job Number: TN1666
• City/State: Memphis, TN
• Certification and Licensure: BC by ABA and Eligible for TN State Medical Licensure
• Facility: Level 1 Trauma Center & High-Risk OB
• Six different sites within the structure: Day Surgery, Main OR, Trauma OR (4), Burn OR (2), GI suites, and L&D
• Support Staff: 45 CRNAs + 13 residents
• Census: 10,000 surgical cases per year
• Case Mix: Ortho, Complex Ortho, Trauma, OB, Regional, Burn, ENT, Urology, Oncology, Breast Surgery, General Surgery, Neuro, Complex Spine, Robotics
• No Pediatrics, Total Joints, Eyes, Cardiac, or Complex Neuro
• Schedule: As needed and flexible
• Hours: Most OR’s run 7a – 5p.
• Trauma and OB are 24/7 operations with 12-hour shifts (7a-7p, 7p-7a).
• Option to work some 24-hour shifts
• Call Schedule: Trauma and OB are 12-hour shifts; overtime is paid for the last two hours of each call shift
• Medical Direction: 1:2 for residents, 1:4 max with all CRNA.
• Very few solo cases, but some are possible
• EMR: Cerner
• Compensation: $350/hr. for direct contract positions
• Malpractice: Provision of own malpractice insurance strongly preferred
