Arc Health, in partnership with NativeArc, is seeking a Board-Certified Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician for a hybrid inpatient/outpatient position at an IHC facility in Polacca, Arizona. This is a unique opportunity to serve the Hopi and Navajo Nations in a culturally rich and close-knit community with deep traditions and beautiful natural surroundings.
- Tribal Critical Access Hospital with 15 beds
- 100% American Indian/Alaska Native patient population
- Surrounded by the Navajo Reservation
- 150 miles from Grand Canyon National Park
- Nearby airports: Flagstaff (2 hrs), Phoenix & Albuquerque (4 hrs)
Practice Description
- Hybrid Role: Inpatient, Urgent Care & Same-Day Clinic
- Inpatient: 2 patients/day (average), 4-bed med/surg unit
- Urgent Care: 15–20 patients/day (variable volume)
- Same-Day Clinic: 8–10 patients per half-day block
- Schedule: Wednesday–Tuesday block, 10 hours/day
- Support: RN care coordinators, tribal public health, behavioral health
Responsibilities
- Comprehensive care across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Develop and manage treatment plans
- Perform minor procedures (sutures, fractures, local blocks)
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
- Promote health education on nutrition, hygiene, and chronic disease
Requirements
- Board Certified in Family or Internal Medicine
- Recent experience in both inpatient and outpatient care
- Active, unrestricted license and DEA (any U.S. state or territory)
- BLS and ACLS required (PALS optional)
- Fully vaccinated (COVID, Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Influenza)
- No lapse in clinical practice >6 months
