How you'll make an impact in this role

The Pediatric APRN or PA, PRN schedule, with Rx Direct Pt Care, in collaboration with Surgeons and a team of General Surgery/Trauma APPs, provides for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions. The APP will work with Dell Children's Medical Center assisting the Pediatric Surgery and Trauma team. This is a patient-facing position without OR responsibility. We are looking for a candidate with at least 2 years' experience of pediatric acute care or critical care experience; prefer experience in a surgical speciality. Position Highlights:

• This is both an inpatient and outpatient position
• Acute Care Certification preferred for NP's

Responsibilities:

Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
* Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
* Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
* Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience:

• 1 year of experience preferred.
