Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Dermatology

Job Summary:

The incumbent will be responsible for developing/maintaining a nationally recognized research program; collaborate with investigators in the department and at UW-Madison in relevant research areas; present research at national and international meetings, and publish results in leading biomedical journals appropriate to areas of application; teach relevant courses at undergraduate/graduate levels, and participate in the training and mentoring of graduate students and postdoctoral researchers.

The incumbent will need to develop his or her own independent research program and will be required to attract and maintain external funding.

Clinical duties, if any, would depend on the candidate's area of expertise and interests.

The incumbent will also participate in professional, university and community service appropriate to the faculty rank.

Responsibilities:

This role will encompass a crucial component involving collaborative efforts and a supportive rapport with fellow faculty members.

The applicant will contribute to the overall mission by assisting in various administrative functions, contributing to committees nationally and within the university, and fostering a cohesive environment among peers to enhance the institutions' academic and clinical objectives.

The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work (such as participating in graduate school committees, graduate programs, SMPH committees, and departmental activities, as required/requested), to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Candidates with an MD/Phd may have additional clinical duties up to 0.1 of their 1.0 FTE at the VA or UW Health.

Qualifications:

Years of experience will be commensurate with rank sought. Postdoctoral research experience as evidenced by authoritative publications in the field is required. All candidates must have proven success in conducting research appropriate to their stage of career. Associate/full Professor candidates must possess experience and scholarly credentials for appointment with tenure at UW-Madison.

If hired as MD/PhD candidate, licensure is required.
