Sunshine, Mountains and Vascular Surgery

Our Cardiology practice of 22 physicians and 14 APPs has serviced our community for close to 50 years, and once again we are expanding to meet the needs of our beautiful mountain community by evolving into a full CardioVascular practice.

We currently enjoy a vertically integrated market with Cardiology and Cardiothoracic surgery through our partnership with the region's premier cardiothoracic surgical practice. Due to recent changes in the surgical climate, we have identified an opportunity for the practice to become a "One- Stop-Shop" for our patients by adding Vascular/Peripheral Vascular surgery to the practice. Where all three surgical specialties are aligned, and working in concert with one another.

The area recently had a surgeon relocate, leaving only two local general surgeons who are not boarded in vascular. With such a robust cardiology practice, the opportunity to include vascular surgeons in the group presents great opportunity, and value for our patients:

• One-stop shop: For patients with PVD, or other issues, the opportunity to receive coordinated care in the same environment as their cardiologist
• More immediate treatment: Decrease the likelihood of patients with disease going un-treated – the ability for the group to set up protocols to ensure cardiology patients can be quickly seen/treated (when needed) by vascular partners within the group
• Opportunity for swift volume growth: The clinic sees over 60,000 patients/year in the clinic for cardiology services, with a high rate of comorbidities in our patient population. With good operational processes and intra-group referrals, a new surgeon will have a built-in ability to build a practice
