Southwest Medical (SM ) is a multi-specialty group of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants consisting of over 300 providers, fourteen clinical locations including nine health care centers, six urgent care clinics, four convenient care centers and an outpatient surgery center. SMA offers patients compassion, innovation, and quality care throughout southern Nevada. SMA is headquartered in the greater Las Vegas, NV area.

Southwest Medical is now part of the Optum division under the greater UnitedHealth Group umbrella.

In this position you will work with other physicians in teams but manage your own panel of patients Monday-Friday.

The patient population is an adult panel of all ages including geriatrics and some older adolescents and can be customized for interest areas. Our seniors have the convenience of our new Lifestyle Centers. Work in attractive/modern buildings and enjoy an electronic medical record environment. Full time management staff, digital radiology and onsite laboratory services add conveniences at our 14 clinic locations throughout the Las Vegas area.

Required Qualifications:

  • Family Medicine Residency trained, board certified or board eligible
  • Ability to obtain Nevada license, DEA, Pharmacy license
  • Medical knowledge about established and evolving biomedical, clinical, epidemiological and social behavioral sciences and application of this knowledge to patient care
  • Interpersonal and communication skills that result in effective information exchange and collaboration with patients, their families and other health professionals
  • Possession of or acquisition of sufficient computer skills to effectively utilize Electronic Medical Records in their practice
  • Practice-based learning and improvement that involves investigation and evaluation of their own patient care, appraisal and assimilation of scientific evidence and improvements in patient care

Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Nevada residents is $249,728 to $355,092.
