Grandview Medical Center – Birmingham, AL, is seeking an experienced Vascular Surgical Physician Assistant to join our dedicated Vascular Surgery Team. This First Assist surgical role offers a unique opportunity to provide support to our Board Certified Vascular Surgeons and help round on their patients in the hospital. As part of a collaborative and dynamic team, you will play a key role in enhancing surgical efficiency and improving patient care.

Position Highlights:

  • Full-time, hospital employed position
  • Operating Room and inpatient setting
  • Support for three Board Certified Vascular Surgeons
  • At least one surgeon operating every day of the week
  • Adult patient care only

Responsibilities:

  • First Assist in Vascular surgeries and interventions in the Operating Room
  • Provide inpatient and follow-up care for hospitalized patients, including post-operative management, consults, and evaluations.
  • Collaborate with three Board Certified Vascular Surgeons to assist with patient assessments, treatment plans, and procedures.
  • Provide daily surgical support in a busy OR schedule and work alongside surgeons to manage a high-volume caseload.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a Physician Assistant role, preferably in a surgical setting.
  • Surgical assist experience required; experience in vascular surgery a plus!
  • Current Physician Assistant license in the state of Alabama (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Ability to independently manage a wide range of tasks including patient rounds, assisting in surgery, and pre/post-operative care.
