• Patient Volume: 7,000
• Specialties: Lab services and imaging (CT and x-ray)
• Coverage Model: Physicians work 7a-7p and 7p-7a
• Number of Beds: 14 beds
• EMR: Cerner (PowerNote ED) with Dragon capabilities

Qualifications

• Education: MD/DO with a three-year residency
• Board Certification: ABEM/ABOEM or ABIM/ABFM with emergency medicine experience.
• Experience: Emergency Medicine residency or 1+ years of emergency medicine experience as an MD or DO.
• Badges: ABFM and ABIM physicians would be required to obtain and maintain ATLS, BLS, PALS, ACLS, and NRP (all need to be obtained through American Heart Association).

About South Texas Health System Heart: South Texas Health System Heart, formerly known as McAllen Heart Hospital, in McAllen, Texas is a 60-bed heart hospital that provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient cardiac care for the South Texas region. This hospital is the region's only accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention). South Texas Health System Heart is an accredited hospital by The Joint Commission.
