The University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Division of Hematology, Oncology and Blood & Marrow Transplantation are seeking a board certified Medical Oncologist with specialization in gastrointestinal oncology for a growing practice. This position will be at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor, tenure, or clinical track (non-tenure track), depending on qualifications and experience.
The Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center that collaborates closely with the College and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Division faculty lead more than 200 active clinical research trials at any given time for a wide range of cancers and blood disorders and operate Iowa’s only FACT-accredited bone marrow transplant unit. The division provides services at University of Iowa Health Care, the Iowa City VA Medical Center, and at several regional outreach sites in southeast Iowa.
Required Qualifications:
- Candidates must have an MD degree or equivalent.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Residency Program is required.
- Candidates will show evidence of a commitment to clinical teaching, clinical research, and patient care experience in medical oncology.
- Training and/or clinical experience in gastrointestinal medical oncology is required.
- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Iowa
- Must be board certified or eligible for certification by the ABIM in Medical Oncology
Desired Qualifications:
- Multiple years of experience in clinical gastrointestinal medical oncology is preferred.
- Leadership experience of a gastrointestinal portfolio in medical oncology would be ideal.
- Nationally or internationally recognized clinical trial experience is ideal.
- Academic experience with extramural grants, clinical research collaborations, and/or training programs is ideal.
Compensation Details
$290-406k
Compensation is initial base (shared in this post) + $/RVU incentive above individual RVU target.
