Position Summary

The Department of Internal Medicine at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Gastroenterologist with expertise and interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). This is a full-time faculty position within an academic medical center that includes inpatient, outpatient, procedural, research, and teaching responsibilities.

The IBD faculty physician will work closely with a team of gastroenterologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, and fellows to deliver advanced medical care to patients with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. The successful candidate should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in clinical care, academic scholarship, and teaching.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical (IBD-Focused):

  • Deliver outpatient and inpatient care for patients with IBD
  • Perform endoscopic procedures
  • Participate in hospital consults and IBD Center clinics

Teaching:

  • Teach and mentor fellows, residents, medical students
  • Participate in IBD Fellowship Program development and education initiatives

Research:

  • Develop and participate in a nationally competitive research program in IBD
  • Seek extramural funding and collaborate with faculty to build interdisciplinary research

Administrative:

  • Maintain timely chart documentation
  • Conduct patient follow-up and handle clinical triage (calls, labs, etc.)

Compensation Details
