About the Position:
Provide leadership and clinical guidance to psychiatry leaders and psychiatrists delivering care within select state-owned and-operated correctional institutions, including:
- Reviewing and implementing quality management (QM) processes; monitoring QM registries and dashboards; reporting on QM-related topics to appropriate committees and stakeholders; and working with institutional psychiatry leaders on items requiring follow up.
- Conducting onsite meetings with psychiatry managers and line staff to confirm and measure the implementation of QM-related practices.
- Tracking psychiatry staffing and ensuring psychiatric leadership availability at institutions.
- Collaborating and participating with institutional psychiatry leaders and Utilization Management to ensure appropriate delivery of specialized psychiatric interventions and services.
- Traveling frequently to CDCR institutions and CCHCS Headquarters.
Requirements:
- CA Medical License
- Minimum 2 years' experience practicing psychiatry
- Knowledge/experience in utilizing data and policies to drive professional recommendations and positive growth is highly desirable
Recruitment and Retention Bonus:
Psychiatrists newly hired by the state of CA are eligible to receive a recruitment and retention bonus of up to $15,000 within the first 12 months of service.
Referral Bonus:
All CCHCS/CDCR employees that refer a mental health clinician who is successfully hired by CCHCS may be eligible to receive a referral bonus of $5,000 per appointed referral.
