No-Call Cardiovascular Surgery PA Assignment in Texas

Are you a Cardiovascular Surgery PA looking for a flexible locums assignment in Texas? We have an interim opportunity that allows you to choose from day or night shifts to fit your schedule, with several dates still available for the remainder of the year.

Highlights

• No on-call duties required
• Both day and night shifts available
• This role is open to IMLC Physician Assistants
• Ongoing PRN need with potential for future dates

Practice Setting

• Inpatient coverage for a cardiac surgery service
• Work collaboratively with another APP
• Manage a service census of approximately 10-15 patients
• Full hospital support staff

Schedule

• Consistent 12-hour shifts
• Choose from day (7a-7p) or night (7p-7a) coverage
• Only a few blocks in late summer and fall still open
• No long-term commitment required

Procedures and Cases

• Rounding in the ICU on pre- and post-op cardiac surgery patients
• Managing patients coming off of ventilators
• Cases include open hearts, VATS, and lung procedures
• OR experience with endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) is strongly preferred

Requirements

• Board Certified Physician Assistant
• Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgery (CAQ)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications

Credentialing Requirements

• Active Texas Physician Assistant license
• Will consider candidates with an active IMLC Letter of Qualification
