Electrophysiologist | $900K+ (1 yr partner track; uncapped earnings) | ASC Equity | Top EP Program Build | Tallahassee
Tallahassee, FL
Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare
Job Highlights
Full-time; Tallahassee, FL
Southern Medical Group, P.A. is seeking an Electrophysiologist to anchor EP services at one of the last independent cardiovascular groups in the Southeast. If you have been waiting for the right opportunity to have real ownership of an EP program, this is it.
The Perks
- Lucrative Earning Potential: Competitive base salary plus uncapped productivity bonus — expected total Year 1 compensation of $900K+ with no ceiling on what you build beyond that.
- Program Ownership: You are not joining an established EP program with an established hierarchy. You are building one — with full physician governance, real autonomy, and the infrastructure of a $150M system investment behind you.
- 1-Year Partnership Track: Accelerated to full partnership — one of the shortest tracks available in independent cardiology.
- ASC Equity: Up to 49% physician ownership in the ambulatory surgery center.
- Governance Income: $1.3M annual co-management pool distributed to physician committee participants.
- Choose Your APP Model: 2–4 APPs per your preference. You decide how aggressively to leverage your team.
The Opportunity
- Establish EP in a Region Positioned for Growth: North Florida represents one of the most compelling EP opportunities in the Southeast — a large, aging service area with a serious academic health system behind it and a clear path to Centers of Excellence designation. This is a program being built with intention, not inherited.
- Advance With a System That Is Investing: Florida State University has committed $1.7 billion over 30 years to build FSU Health into a world-class academic health center — with $250 million deploying by 2034 to upgrade facilities, fund research, and support clinical faculty. The Heart and Vascular Institute is being built as a true institute model — governance, service line ecosystems, data analytics, research, and graduate medical education.
- Grow Into a Center of Excellence: Centers of Excellence designation in EP is a stated target for the Heart and Vascular Institute at FSU Health. You help define what that looks like.
The Practice
- Device implant, catheter ablation, complex arrhythmia management
- AF, VT, and structural EP scope — details to be confirmed with program leadership
- 7-on / 7-off call rotation; TMH Level 2 Trauma Center
- 21-county North Florida / South Georgia / South Alabama service area
- Clinics across the FL panhandle and into Georgia
Living in Tallahassee, FL
- Affordable Florida: Low cost of living compared to Miami, Tampa, and Orlando — with all of the Florida lifestyle and none of the price tag. Your income goes substantially further here than in any other major Florida market.
- The Other Florida: Rolling hills, canopy roads draped in Spanish moss, a vibrant university community, and Southern hospitality that surprises every candidate who visits.
- Coastal Access: Thirty minutes from the Gulf of Mexico. World-class beaches without living on top of them.
- Capital City Energy: Home to FSU, FAMU, and the seat of state government — a mid-sized city with outsized culture, dining, arts, and community.
What You'll Bring
- Fellowship training in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology (required)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology
- Proficiency in catheter ablation and device implantation (both required)
- Experience with AF, VT, and complex arrhythmia management
- Eligible for Florida medical license
