FPOB coverage in South Dakota, flexible schedule

Schedule: 24 hour stretches, 7a-7a in house + Swing shifts that will be beeper coverage from an apartment

Dates of Need:  5 to 7 days straight a month

Why the Need? Need more coverage in med surg; use locums for OBGYN and GS call as well

Required Procedures/Cases: deliveries, gyn surgery, need someone to work the Med/Surge floor

Volume: 7 ER’s a day, deliveries vary but about 120 a year, and 7 on med surg, 2 or 3 acute

# of deliveries per month: 20 deliveries in the past 18 months

Support Staff: GS on call for emergency C-Section

Hospital Information: Critical access hospital; rural medicine

EMR System: EPIC
