SSM Health and Saint Louis University are seeking a passionate, fellowship-trained Oculoplastic Surgeon. Full-time academic appointment in the Department of Ophthalmology. This is a rare opportunity to become part of a growing academic practice alongside a highly respected ASOPRS-accredited surgeon with nearly two decades of experience and a strong commitment to education and mentorship.

Why Join Us?

  • Academic Excellence: Full-time faculty appointment with Saint Louis University School of Medicine, with opportunities to teach and mentor medical students and residents.
  • Surgical Focus: The anticipated schedule includes 1–1.5 days in the clinic and 2–4 days in the operating room (OR) weekly. With the addition of a new surgeon, we aim to establish a more consistent weekly schedule.
  • Diverse Case Mix: The current surgeon focuses on ptosis repair, thyroid eye disease, and trauma/fracture cases. There is a strong opportunity for the incoming surgeon to develop and lead a cosmetic oculoplastics service.
  • Team-Based Care: You'll be supported by a dedicated APP and medical assistant. The clinic also includes a nurse practitioner who manages new and post-op patients, allowing for increased surgical time.
  • Strategic Location: Our clinic is just three blocks from the outpatient surgery center and one block from the pediatric surgery center, ensuring seamless patient care.
  • Practice Growth: No existing panel, but high demand and community need provide an excellent opportunity to build a thriving practice quickly.
  • Leadership Support: Dr. Espinoza, also Assistant Dean at the School of Medicine, is eager to mentor a new partner and expand the academic mission of the department.
