MedStar Medical Group is seeking a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center in Olney, Maryland, a charming suburban community in Montgomery County just north of Washington, D.C. Practice in a 12-bed Medical/Surgical ICU caring for critically ill medical and surgical patients while enjoying a high degree of clinical autonomy, strong physician collaboration, and the support of MedStar Health's nationally recognized healthcare system. Dedicated Nocturnists receive a generous adjustor with the flexibility to apply it toward either their base annual salary or annual clinical target.
Position Highlights
- 12-bed mixed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit
- 574 annual ICU admissions
- 5,554 annual inpatient admissions
- Nocturnist
- Typical daily ICU census of 8–10 patients managed by a three-provider team
- Collaborative team of 5 physicians and 5 APPs supporting ICU coverage
- Care for critically ill medical and surgical patients
- Lead Code Blue responses and participate in Rapid Response Team activations
- Evaluate and manage unstable patients throughout the hospital who may require ICU-level care
- Perform procedures and practice with a high degree of clinical autonomy within a collaborative team environment

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) or Physician Assistant program
- Current AGACNP or NCCPA certification
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- At least 1 year of acute care APP experience required

Compensation Details
$125K–$234K
The hiring range is the range MedStar Health, in good faith, believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future and actual compensation may vary from posting based on work experience, education and/or skill level, etc. Even within the range, the actual compensation will vary depending on the above factors as well as market/business considerations.
