Postpartum Inpatient Rounding Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA)

Inova Women's Services is seeking a Postpartum Inpatient Rounding Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus. This Provider will provide comprehensive care for postpartum patients during their inpatient hospital stay in the Family Centered Care Unit located inside the Inova Women's Hospital. The Family Centered Care Unit is a 96-bed unit supporting a Level IV NICU and a high acuity labor and delivery unit.

Women's Health Nurse Practitioner Job Responsibilities:

• Perform rounds on postpartum patients
• Conduct assessments, monitor recovery from childbirth, and manage postpartum conditions
• Collaborate with OB/GYNs and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Serve as a safety resource for the RNs
• Inpatient practice on the Family Centered Care Unit at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus

Requirements:

• Education: Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice or graduate of a post masters certificate program for nurse practitioners, OR certificate from an education program that is accredited by the Council of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs/Schools, American College of Nurse Midwives, American Association of Colleges of Nursing of the National League for Nursing. For physician Assistants, graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Completion of a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner program is strongly preferred.
• Experience: No experience required. Previous experience in Women's Health is strongly preferred.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start
• Licensure: Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner; If Nurse Practitioner: RN Compact License(depending on State of primary residence) AND a license (or eligibility for) as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia AND a "Practice Agreement" signed by sponsoring/ supervising physician(s), AND a written "Scope of Practice/Protocol" signed by the supervising physician, AND "Drug Enforcement Administration License" (if prescribing controlled substances)
