Job Summary:
Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Endocrinologist to join its dynamic Endocrinology team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to children with endocrine disorders and diabetes while collaborating within a multidisciplinary environment. This position offers strong clinical support, opportunities for academic involvement, and a competitive compensation package.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric endocrine disorders and diabetes
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment and management plans
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurse practitioners, dietitians, social workers, psychologists, and laboratory staff
- Participate in specialized clinics such as Turner Syndrome, Thyroid Disorders, and Gender Affirming Care
- Support diabetes education initiatives and annual diabetes camp
- Engage in clinical research, quality improvement, and educational activities as appropriate
- Educate patients and families on endocrine conditions and long-term disease management
- Provide teaching and mentorship to medical students and residents
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Adhere to hospital policies and comply with federal, state, and local regulations
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology
- Eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the state of Ohio
- Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to family-centered, team-based care
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Full-time pediatric specialty physician position
