Gastroenterology Opportunity in Las Cruces

Enjoy over 300 days of sunshine each year while building a rewarding career in one of the Southwest’s most desirable communities. A hospital-employed multi-specialty group in Las Cruces is seeking a BE/BC Gastroenterologist to join an expanding GI service line near El Paso.

This is an excellent opportunity for a physician interested in either General Gastroenterology or incorporating Advanced Endoscopy into their practice, with strong procedural volume and long-term growth potential.

Opportunity Highlights

  • Hospital-employed position within an established multi-specialty network
  • Expansion opportunity with strong referral support from more than 160 physicians on staff
  • Blend of approximately 70% general GI and 30% advanced procedures
  • Opportunity to develop and grow advanced endoscopy services
  • Existing hospital equipment and procedural volume support physicians looking to incorporate advanced procedures into practice
  • Typical procedural volume:
    • 15–20 general GI procedures daily
    • 2–5 advanced procedures daily
  • Hospital-based endoscopy program
  • Guaranteed block time with opportunity for expansion as procedural volume grows
  • Dedicated anesthesia support available
  • APP support for inpatient rounding
  • Collaborative clinical environment with growth-focused leadership

Call Schedule

  • 1:3 call rotation
  • Approximately 10 days of call per month
  • Combination of clinic and hospital call
  • No in-house call requirement
  • Additional call compensation available for call exceeding five days monthly

Practice Environment

  • Current GI coverage includes one employed physician and two independent physicians covering through a PSA arrangement
  • Recruitment supports continued expansion and long-term program development
  • Opportunity for physicians interested in helping build advanced GI capabilities
  • Typical clinic schedule Monday–Friday

Candidate Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
  • ERCP training preferred for physicians interested in advanced procedures
  • Eligible for medical licensure in New Mexico
