Atrium Health Department of Physician Advisor Services is seeking a full-time Physician Advisor to join its’ experienced team of eleven full-time physicians providing services for 23 acute care facilities spanning the North Carolina and Georgia markets. Physician Advisor Services was created in 2009 and continues to grow with market expansion requiring additional physician advisor teammates.  

Highlights

  • Current unrestricted medical license within the state of North Carolina or Georgia 
  • Minimum two years of Utilization Management or similar experience 
  • ABQAURP Certified Physician Advisor or ACPA-C status or obtain within two years of employment 
  • Five plus years of hospital clinical experience preferred 
  • Experience with length of stay management, denials management, audit, appeals, and/or clinical documentation integrity preferred 
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid conditions of participation, rules, and regulations 

Training and/or Experience Required

  • Demonstrated physician leader with a strong focus on teamwork and patient first solutions 
  • Self-starter with strong operational and project management skills 
  • Comfortable speaking and giving presentations to all hospital audiences 
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications and EPIC EMR 
  • Experience within the commercial payor industry and revenue cycle operations 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Despite the position being remote, the Physician must reside in one of the following states: NC, SC, GA, or AL
