On behalf of Dr. Leslie Morse, Chair of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (MSOM) and Chief of Rehabilitation of the Jackson Health System (JHS), CareerPhysician, LLC, the national leader in academic child health executive search and leadership development, has initiated an international search to identify a transformational leader to serve as the inaugural MSOM Chief of the Division of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine.
• The incoming Chief will have the tremendous opportunity to establish and elevate a dedicated Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine (PMR) division, with the vision to achieve national pre-eminence in PMR through exceptional clinical care, innovative therapies, teaching, research, quality improvement, and advocacy.
Opportunity Highlights:
• Benefiting from a highly collaborative Department and cross campus culture, tremendous opportunities exist in key areas such as building world-class divisional research and teaching missions, cultivating faculty development and leadership in all areas of academic PMR, leading the expansion of the inpatient pediatric rehabilitation unit, and establishing a leading Pediatric PMR fellowship program.
• The incoming Chief will be the intended Chairholder of the Shriners Children’s Endowed Chair in Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and will be used exclusively to support pediatric physical medicine and rehabilitation.
• Multiple areas of interest will be supported by the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, with unique opportunities to be part of the Batchelor Children’s Research Institute, as well as to collaborate with the Mailman Center for Child Development, an academic center at MSOM that is one of the top 10 programs in the United States for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and chronic illness.
• Lynn Rehabilitation Center for the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. State of the art center opened in 2020 with 80 inpatient beds in a 250,000 square-foot, nine-story tower on the Jackson Memorial Medical Center campus.
