Facility Name: Ocala Health and Associated FSEDs Specialty: Emergency Medicine Position specific questions · Reason for the need? Staffing shortage · When would the provider need to start? ASAP · Duration of need? Until further notice. Anticipate 1-2 years Call/Rotation schedule? NO CALL Credentialing questions: · Will emergency privileges be an option? Yes Hospital/unit questions · Number of beds? o Ocala- 31 o WM- 28 · Census? o Variable based on location and shift · How many patients are they rounding on per day? NA · How many daily admissions? NA · Are there any consults and if so how many per day? · What’s the patient population? · Trauma center? Types of cases? Acuity? o Ocala is a Level 2 ACS Level 1 Trauma Center · What does the support staff look like? APP coverage based on location and shift · How will follow up cases be handled? when applicable- inpatient or outpatient Credentialing questions · Will we do emergency privs or temps? Yes · Orientation done on first day of assignment or prior? Morning of 1st Shadow shift Specialty Specific Questions: Emergency Medicine · What are the shift times?------ o Most 7a-7p and 7p-7a at all sites o There are two 8 hour shifts available per day. · Is call involved? o No · What procedures are required? o Proficiency in all emergency care procedures is required Central Access Arterial Line Lumbar Puncture Intubation Pacing Orthopedic stabilization etc. · What does the support staff include? o APP coverage depending on shift and time of day. EM residency program. APP training program as well. · What is the average patient census? o Depends on location. Most FSEDs are 2 patients per hour. Main sites are more variable. · What are the most common cases the locum will see? o FSEDs- Vertical 3 patients and Level 4/5 patients. o Ocala/ WM- Mainly Vertical 3 patients abdominal pain chest pain etc.. They are unlikely to work in the Main high acuity section of these facilities unless they specifically request. · Annual ER admissions? · Does the unit use robots? If so what kind? NA · How often are the locums called back on site if on call? NA · How many EM physicians are typically on staff per shift? o FSED--- 1 o Ocala/WM--- 2
