  • Ohio-based Akron Children’s is seeking a Physician Director for its Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Program.

    Akron Children’s Hospital is the largest pediatric healthcare system in Northeast Ohio and is ranked among the best children’s hospitals. This role ensures high‑quality, comprehensive ACHD care, supports seamless transition from pediatric to adult services, and advances multidisciplinary collaboration.

    The position combines direct inpatient and outpatient care with program oversight, quality improvement, academic involvement, and strategic growth aligned with institutional goals.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide expert clinical leadership and establish ACHD care standards

    • Lead program development, growth strategy, and accreditation efforts

    • Strengthen multidisciplinary partnerships across pediatric and adult specialties

    • Support education, mentorship, research, and national ACHD engagement

    • Strengthen collaborative care pathways with pediatric cardiology and adult subspecialties, including adult cardiology, cardiac surgery, obstetrics and maternal fetal medicine, genetics, pulmonary medicine, rehabilitation, anesthesia, and other key areas.

    Requirements include board eligibility/certification in Adult Congenital Heart Disease and the ability to obtain an active medical license in the state of Ohio.
