Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician – Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital

Sentara Medical Group is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our practice in scenic Harrisonburg, VA. We are looking for flexible, energetic, highly motivated candidates who demonstrate strong relationship building skills, strong clinical skills and the desire to build the program.

Position Highlights:               

·        Engage in a broad scope of conventional cardiac and thoracic surgery, with no responsibilities for VAD, ECMO, or transplant cases

·        Join a dynamic team of 3 physicians in a comprehensive Cardiac Services program covering Cardiac Surgery, Structural, EP, and Advanced Imaging.

·        Seasoned team including RNs, clerical staff, and 3 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).

·        Average patient census 6-15 per day and 1 Full day of clinic

·        Contribute to pioneering advancements in cardiothoracic surgery.

·        State-of-the-art facility featuring cutting-edge technology, including robotics

·        1:3 call rotation

Required Qualifications:

·        Completion of medical degree and residency training in general surgery and a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery 

·        MD/DO with certification by an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) board in physician's primary specialty. Must be board certified or in the process of certifying.
