Position Overview

Beebe Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified Physician to serve as the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program Director (PD). This hybrid leadership role blends clinical practice with academic development, split as 20% Administrative Time for Program Directorship and 80% Clinical Time.

Operating at our Main Campus, you will lead the strategic planning, implementation, and overall direction of the Geriatrics Fellowship. You will work in close coordination with the DME, DIO, and Office of Medical Education to ensure compliance with ACGME, ABIM/ABFM certifying boards, and Joint Commission requirements.

• Program Leadership: Design, administer, and maintain an ACGME-compliant educational environment tailored to community needs and Beebe's medical mission.
• Clinical Excellence: Maintain active clinical skills by providing high-quality, direct patient care within our growing coastal community.
• Compliance & Accreditation: Ensure absolute compliance with ACGME Institutional, Common Program, and Geriatric Medicine requirements. Submit precise annual program updates to ADS.
• Faculty & Fellow Management: Oversee fellowship faculty selection, annual evaluations, and recruitment. Spearhead fellow selection, orientation, quarterly progress reviews, and final written evaluations.
• Academic Culture: Coordinate educational activities including monthly journal clubs, board reviews, and core didactics. Foster an environment of clinical inquiry and scholarship.
• GME Governance: Serve actively on the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) and collaborate on institutional policy enforcement.
• Schedule: Full-Time, 8-hour day shifts (Weekdays)
• Location: Hospital-Main Campus (Lewes, DE)
• Certification: Board certification in Geriatric Medicine via ABIM/AOBIM or ABFM/AOBFP.
• Licensure: Current (or eligible for) medical licensure in the State of Delaware with appropriate medical staff appointment.
• Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of documented educational or administrative experience within an ACGME-accredited residency (Family/Internal Medicine) or Geriatric Medicine fellowship.
• Leadership: Demonstrated professional behavior, serving as a role model aligned with Beebe Healthcare’s core values. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
