MedStar Union Memorial Hospital (MUMH) is seeking a full-time Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Orthopedic Hand Surgery team. This is a dynamic role offering a balanced blend of operating room time, trauma/inpatient consults, and outpatient clinic, working alongside nationally recognized hand surgeons and a highly collaborative specialty team. This position is open to new graduates with a strong interest in orthopedic and hand surgery.

Position Overview

This APP will play a key role in the care of patients with complex hand and upper extremity conditions, including hand trauma, elective surgical cases, and inpatient orthopedic consults.

Clinical Breakdown:

• 50% Emergency Department/Inpatient Consults – Evaluation and management of hand and upper extremity patients throughout the hospital, including trauma cases
• 30% Outpatient Clinic – Pre- and post-operative visits, follow-ups, and new patient evaluations
• 20% Operating Room – First assist in hand and upper extremity surgical procedures

Schedule

• Full-time (1.0 FTE)
• 40 hours per week
• Day/Evening shift
• Hours vary
• One Saturday per month for call coverage with overtime compensation

Qualifications

• Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
• Eligible for Maryland licensure and hospital credentialing
• Interest in orthopedic surgery, hand surgery, plastic surgery and trauma care
• New graduates encouraged to apply

USD $115,003.00 - USD $143,916.00 /Yr.
