The Duke University Department of Radiation Oncology is seeking a board-certified/board eligible Radiation Oncologist to join our exceptional team focusing on the management of patients at the Durham VA Medical Center in Durham, NC.

  • Highly motivated individuals are sought to develop their professional careers as employees of the Duke University Department of Radiation Oncology, which provides professional services at the Durham VA Medical Center.
  • The ideal candidate should be clinically and academically oriented, looking to develop clinical and research programs using radiation for oncologic and non-oncologic indications.
  • The candidate will be expected to supervise and mentor trainees in the resident-led Durham VA Medical Center Radiation Oncology clinic.
  • The candidate will be expected to engage with the Duke Cancer Institutes internationally recognized multidisciplinary programs.
  • Experienced candidates are encouraged to apply. New graduates will also be considered.
  • Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with prior experience and skill set.

The Durham VA Medical Center Radiation Oncology Service offers cutting-edge radiation treatment and special procedures, including SBRT, IMRT/IGRT, and SRS. A new Radiation Oncology Center is planned to open in the fall of 2026 with two matched TrueBeam linear accelerators with kV/CBCT for IGRT, SBRT, SRS, surface guided therapy, as well as in department CT simulation. The DVAMC uses ARIA/Eclipse information management/treatment planning systems. The DVAMC Radiation Oncology Service actively participates in investigator-initiated, Cooperative Group, as well as VA Cooperative Study Program clinical trials with robust accrual.
