Job Summary:
Wellstar Douglas Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Total Joint Orthopedic Surgeon to join our growing orthopedic team. The ideal candidate will provide expert care in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of total joint replacement surgeries, including hip, knee, and shoulder procedures, to help improve the quality of life for our patients. Required Qualifications: * Education: + Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution. + Completion of an orthopedic residency program. + Fellowship training in Total Joint Arthroplasty or Adult Reconstruction Orthopedics is preferred. * Licensure & Certification: + Board Certification or eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). + Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Georgia. + Current DEA license. + BLS/ACLS certification. * Experience: + At least 3-5 years of experience performing total joint replacement surgeries in a clinical or hospital setting preferred. + Proficiency in primary and revision surgeries for hip, knee, and shoulder joints. + Strong knowledge of the latest surgical techniques and technology for joint replacement. * Skills & Abilities: + Excellent surgical skills and a patient-centered approach to care. + Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. + Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients and their families about treatment options and expectations. + Ability to maintain a calm and compassionate demeanor under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in minimally invasive joint replacement techniques. * Familiarity with robotic-assisted orthopedic surgery is a plus. * Experience in a hospital setting serving a diverse patient population.

Work Environment & Conditions: * Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday with occasional evening or weekend hours based on patient needs and on-call responsibilities. * Location: Wellstar Douglas Hospital, located in Douglasville, GA. * Physical Requirements: Standing for extended periods during surgeries, lifting and moving patients, and performing other physically demanding tasks may be required.
