Job Duties:
[The Department of Pediatrics][1] at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is recruiting a Pediatric Palliative Care Physician to join our growing team. We are looking for candidates with a track record of clinical excellence and academic contributions as demonstrated through training and/or practice experience.

This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Contact with vulnerable populations that are non-minors (does not pertain to physicians/providers who work with minors): This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.

Applicants for this position will be considered for the titles: Clinical Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS), or Assistant Professor (CHS). The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.
Key Job Responsibilities:

Clinical expectations include providing inpatient and outpatient-based care to pediatric palliative care patients at the American Family Children's Hospital.

Physicians hired on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) track will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Participate in clinical teaching of fellows, residents and medical students, and support the teaching and clinical research missions of the division and department.
Required Qualifications:

Board certification or board eligibility in American Board of Pediatrics is required by the appointment start date.

Completion of an ACGME-approved pediatric residency program is required, by start date.

The candidate is required to have a Wisconsin medical license by the appointment start date.

Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges by the appointment start date.
Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Palliative Care is preferred but not required, by start date.

ASSOCIATE AND PROFESSOR CHS or CT RANK: For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on the CHS or CT Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS or CT Track.

MD, DO, or equivalent is required
