  • A critical access hospital serving a close-knit rural community, is seeking a Urology Surgeon on a permanent part-time, biweekly basis. The position involves working two consecutive days every other week—one day dedicated to outpatient surgeries and the following day for clinic consultations and follow-ups.

     

    The Perks & Schedule

    • Exceptional Compensation: $15,000 monthly average for only 4 days of work ($90/wRVU unmodified with no cap / uncapped income potential)
    • Predictable Biweekly Rotation: Work two consecutive days every other week, planned in advance—one day dedicated to outpatient surgeries followed by one day for clinic consultations and follow-ups.
    • No Call: No call or inpatient responsibilities unless otherwise agreed upon.
    • Travel Covered: Travel and lodging support is fully provided if you are commuting from outside the local area.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Surgical Care: Perform outpatient Urology surgery appropriate for a critical access hospital setting.
    • Clinic Operations: Conduct pre-operative assessments, post-operative care, and follow-up evaluations in the clinic.
    • Collaboration: Partner with hospital staff and primary care providers.
    • Documentation & Safety: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the EMR and ensure compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and rural healthcare regulations.

    Qualifications

    • Education & Board: MD or DO with board certification in Urology.
    • Training & Experience: Fellowship training or significant experience in Urology surgery (minimum 5 years preferred), with experience in outpatient procedures suitable for a critical access hospital.
    • Licensure: Active or eligible for an unrestricted medical license in South Dakota or IMLCC.
    • Setting Adaptability: Comfortable practicing in a rural setting with limited on-site specialty resources.
    • Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
