Indian Health Services is seeking a BC/BE Emergency Medicine Physicians for the Phoenix Area Indian Health Service (PAIHS). Position Details: Four PAIHS facilities are recruiting Emergency Medicine physicians.

​

1) Hopi Health Care Center's Emergency Department provides 24/7 emergency care in a 7-room ED; no routine trauma, telemetry, or routine OB services. Avg. daily volume= 26 pts; ~70% with ESI 4/5. Robust onsite support includes Primary Care, Hospitalists, Pharmacy, Radiology, and Lab services.

2) Parker Indian Health Center's Emergency Department provides 24/7 emergency care in a 6-room ED; no routine trauma, telemetry, or routine OB services. Avg. daily volume= 18 pts; ~70% with ESI 4/5. Robust onsite support includes Primary Care, Hospitalists, Pharmacy, Radiology, and Lab services. Facility is in close proximity to La Paz Regional Hospital.

3) Phoenix Indian Medical Center's Emergency Department provides 24/7 emergency care in a 13-room ED and 10-room Fast Track. No trauma and no ambulance traffic. Provider-centered staffing model keeps nights and weekends to a minimum. ED coverage is excellent, enabling the physicians to spend more time taking care of their patients. Avg. daily volume=140 pts; 70% with ESI 4/5. Robust onsite support includes Primary Care, Hospitalists/ICU, Surgical Services, Anesthesia, Medical Specialists, Pharmacy, Radiology, and Lab services.

4) Whiteriver Indian Hospital's Emergency Department provides 24/7 emergency care in a 14-room ED and 5 - chair Fast Track; Avg. daily volume=110 pts; 55% with ESI 4/5. Admission/transfer rate ~10%. Emergency department functions as the hospitalist service overnight. Inpatient medical-surgical floor, no telemetry or ICU. OR is open 7am-5pm M-Thurs. Level IV trauma center. Onsite support includes Primary Care, Hospitalists, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Non-surgical Obstetrics, Podiatry, Pharmacy, Radiology, and Lab services. Xray and CT available 24/7, MRI and ultrasound available M-F 7:30am-4:30pm.
