City of Hope Medical Group Seeks a Nationally Recognized Radiation Oncologist to Lead the Gastrointestinal Team

City of Hope seeks an exceptional leader to serve as the Enterprise Director of Gastrointestinal Radiation Oncology, within one of the largest Departments of Radiation Oncology in the nation. The Department of Radiation Oncology offers cutting-edge radiation treatment options and is embedded within a deep and scientifically-rich cancer center that has national recognition in many research programs, including DNA repair, cancer genetics, cancer immunology, genomics, radiation toxicity, theranostics, and radionuclides. City of Hope National Medical Center is a leading NCI Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center located east of Los Angeles in highly desirable Southern California. We serve more than 200,000 patient visits annually across more than 30 outpatient locations in Southern California, in addition to our 217-bed hospital.

The Enterprise Director will be a highly regarded physician and investigator with a collaborative, team-based leadership style, and the ability to leverage and grow our existing nationally recognized gastrointestinal radiation oncology program. He/she must also be operationally savvy, with the business acumen and cultural sensitivity to lead within a complex, matrixed environment having direct reporting to the Chair of Radiation Oncology, but also collaborating across the disciplines of gastrointestinal surgery, medical oncology, gastroenterology, pathology, supportive care, among others. The Leader must possess a breadth of skills, including demonstrated ability to drive research productivity; deep knowledge of clinical practice; a strong commitment to the training and career development of faculty and trainees; and demonstrated leadership and administrative ability in the clinical enterprise.

There are specific priorities that City of Hope seeks from the Leader to deliver with an overall objective of elevating the Gastrointestinal Radiation Oncology Program nationally. The following are of particular importance:

  • Provide vision and leadership in research and clinical care delivery throughout the Enterprise that will further advance our reputation and delivery of care on the national stage
  • Expand and scale clinical trials and translational research to patients throughout City of Hope enterprise
  • Drive and standardize care pathways achieving superior quality delivering excellence in patient outcomes, patient experience, and utilization metrics
  • Integrate throughout the enterprise and expand our signature gastrointestinal program by helping to recruit high caliber physicians and physician scientists creating market differentiation and excellence

  • Base Salary Range: $435,000 - $560,000 (Associate Clinical to Clinical Professor levels). The range listed is exclusively for base compensation for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual compensation will be adjusted for experience, training, hospital/community need and other factors.
