We are seeking a patient focused Cardiovascular and Thoracic Transplant Surgeon to join our highly skilled team. This is a great opportunity to work at our Level 1 Trauma center in downtown Indianapolis, which is among the top 10 largest transplant programs nationally. With over 140 multidisciplinary employees and 15 employees in the tissue lab, this role offers a great support system to someone looking to practice at the transplant site.
Job Duties:

Responsible for providing patient care, teaching residents and students in their specialty of CV thoracic transplantation surgery and participating in clinical research.

Patient population includes heart and lung transplant patients, VAD patients and ECMO patients
-
Support, and contribute to a growing practice with highly collaborative and interdependent processes in place for successful patient outcomes.

Full-time position and academic / clinical rank will commensurate with experience.

Residents and fellows will rotate on this service.
Basic Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must have M.D., or equivalent education
-
Completed a thoracic surgery fellowship
-
American BC/BE in Surgery
-
Must be able to provide clinical education centering around complex heart and lung transplant, VAD, and ECMO procedures
-
Collaborate and successfully interact with a multi-disciplinary team to promote high-quality patient outcomes.

Requires excellent interpersonal skills and clear written and verbal communication skills.
