SSM Health-SLUCare is seeking an experienced NP to join our elite Cardiac Surgery team as the Lead APP. This position will serve as the clinical leader for the ICU, stepdown, and consult team ensuring high standards of care and collaboration. SLUCare represents the academic medical practice of Saint Louis University, known for leading-edge care and groundbreaking research.

Job Highlights:

  • Schedule of 3x12's per week with dedicated administrative time
  • Play an active role in the recruitment, onboarding, and retention operations including mentorship and training.
  • Assist in optimizing workflows and care delivery, provide comprehensive care to patients in the pre-post-operative setting, collaborate with physician and nursing leadership, and perform procedures as applicable
  • Participate in department led QI/EBP projects, engage in protocol development, and contribute to a supportive, high-performing culture of excellence.
  • Accountable for completion and oversight of APP scheduling.
  • Maintain clinical expertise in cardiac surgery engage in effective communication, foster a positive work environment, participate in strategic thinking and planning, and encourage innovation, accountability, and authenticity.

Qualifications:

  • Cardiothoracic Surgery experience
  • ICU experience required
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner (must be Acute Care Certified)
